The Callaway Room   The next stop on our tour is the beautiful Callaway Room - just outside of the sanctuary. This is the place where the Pastor, the groom, the best man, and the groomsmen will gather just before the ceremony. Luckily, it is completely separated from the path of the bride as she approaches the sanctuary for her dramatic entrance - Miss Louise would not have it any other way! She will remind you, in a motherly sort of way, that it is not proper for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony. The Callaway Room is named after Mr. Edgar A. Callaway, who was the much-loved Pastor of First Baptist Church from 1951 to 1973. As a tribute to Mr. Callaway, much attention to detail has gone into decorating this room. It features an extraordinary tapestry depiction of Christ, antiques and other decorative accoutrements, and a comfortable seating area. This is a wonderful place for the groom and his honored groomsmen to pause and pray for blessings on the bride-to-be, for the families represented at the ceremony, and for the much-anticipated marriage.

Ephesians 5:30-31 - For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
