Men’s Fraternity Concludes for 2008 Twenty-five men attended the final session of Men’s Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood on March 19, 2008. Forty-seven men attended at least part of this in-depth study of what it means to be a man from God's perspective. Many--young and not-so-young alike--commented on the impact of this study. Following the DVD presentation of Dr. Robert Lewis, men met in small groups for about 30 minutes. They unburdened themselves in a safe environment where no one judged them. New relationships were formed. Young men learned from those more experienced, and the older men learned that they still have something to contribute to those following behind them. One man was so affected by what he saw in this study, he met with the Director of Chaplaincy for the Georgia Departement of Corrections to introduce this study to inmates in the prison system. Ironically (or was it God?), the director had has dinner with a friend the night before. His friend was excited to tell him all about a men's study that he was attending--Men's Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood! If you missed this opportunity, don't worry. We will present this study again on Sunday afternoons beginning in September. For those who have completed the Quest for Authentic Manhood, we will present the second series entitled Winning at Work and Home on Wednesday mornings beginning in September.
