 | | | 12th Grade Teachers - Kaye and Steve
| | | | Our Sunday school class consists of fourteen young men and women who are wonderful examples to the younger youth of the church by being active not only in the youth group, but by being involved in all aspects of our church life. Many of our members participate in varied aspects of ministry. These ministries range from performing in our youth praise band and singing in the sanctuary choir to holding prayer groups and Bible studies in our local high schools. The Sunday school class is interactive in that everyone is encouraged to participate and take an active role as the Holy Spirit leads our members in regular, meaningful, relevant Bible study. God has promised to bless His word as we study it. The Bible, studied with due emphasis on application, allows our class to achieve an encounter with the Living God which will make all the difference in attaining the abundant life which Jesus promised. In addition to participating in ministries, the senior class also takes time to fellowship together and with other youth members in activities such as snow and water skiing trips. We are planning rafting trips, and attending Centrifuge and World Changers in the coming months. There are also events such as weekend retreats to focus on issues that face youth in their everyday walks in Christ, such as "True Love Waits", "Leadership Development" and "Experiencing God". These activities are designed to help our seniors understand the challenges they will face while strengthening their relationship with God. The members of our class are entering a challenging and somewhat scary time in their lives - a time when they will be leaving their parents' homes for the first time to go on to college, or to begin a career, as adults. The focus of the class is to grow spiritually with a scriptural foundation that will help us face these changes with the knowledge that God will bless us in all we do if we put Him first in our lives.
Matthew 22:37-38 - Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment."
